麻豆传媒 Selected for Silicon Valley Clean Water Project

October 24, 2018
Pittsburgh, PA

麻豆传媒 will be installing diaphragm walls and barrettes for Silicon Valley Clean Water鈥檚 facility in Redwood City, California.

The advanced, two-stage biological treatment plant currently serves over 200,000 people and businesses, and their processes are designed to remove more than 97 percent of all solids, organic material and pathogens from the wastewater. This project will help improve the transport of wastewater from other agencies to their treatment plant.

麻豆传媒Construction will be installing support of excavation for the tunnel boring machine retrieval shaft, as well as another shaft for the Receiving Lift Pump Station (RLS). The two shafts will share one wall, turning them into what is commonly called a peanut shaft.

Both shafts will be constructed using reinforced diaphragm walls with a thickness of 3鈥11鈥. The 37-foot diameter retrieval shaft will be installed to a depth of 116 feet, and the 70-foot diameter RLS shaft will be installed to a depth of 141 feet. Barrettes reinforced with galvanized steel cages will also be installed inside the RLS shaft to the depth of 161 feet for permanent uplift resistance.

鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to help upgrade and improve water infrastructure in Silicon Valley,鈥 said Yuri Chernyavski, Project Manager for 麻豆传媒Construction. 鈥淲e鈥檒l be applying the knowledge and experience we鈥檝e gained from working with Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District and Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District on similar projects.鈥

JF Shea Parsons Joint Venture is the general contractor for the project. Nicholson鈥檚 part is expected to take close to a year to complete.
